The way they portrayed the deaths in the beginning of the episode was like a symphony of sorrow, a heart-wrenching melody that pierced the very depths of my soul. The two brothers, their relationship and their fate, were intricately woven into the narrative, reminding us that every life lost is a tragedy, a loss that cannot be quantified or overlooked. The refugees, the same ones that Eren and his comrades saved and dined with in the last episode of the previous season, were not just nameless faces in the crowd. They had stories, dreams, hopes, and now they were nothing more than casualties in a war that seemed to have no end.
But the creators knew how to capture our attention, how to make us care. They shifted the focus to the children, their innocence shattered by the horrors of war, and in doing so, they made us feel their pain, their fear, their despair. Suddenly, we were not just spectators, but participants in their tragedy, sharing their grief and their longing for a better world.
And the visuals! The camera angles, the perspectives, the colors and the contrasts, all coming together in a surreal dance of destruction and chaos. The scene of Hange's death was especially poignant, a cruel reminder that even our heroes are not immune to the ravages of war.
But amidst the darkness, there were also moments of beauty, of heroism and sacrifice. The bombardment of Eren, the false Beast Titan, the explosions, the arrival of the Titan-slaying squad, all choreographed to a haunting soundtrack that lingered in my mind long after the episode was over.
In short, I was enraptured, entranced, by the sheer artistry of this episode, a masterpiece of storytelling and animation that left me both breathless and wanting more.
