Deserves the accolades, and everyone should probably see it at least once

I like sci-fi, and I had already watched Firefly & Farscape years before I tried Cowboy Bebop, so I'm familiar with the Used Future tropes. Still, CB does an excellent job of creating a solar system of mish-mashed cultures and criminality from a ruined Earth diaspora that you can believe in (to some extent - the idea that we would have expanded to the entire solar system by the late 21st century is absurd, and Venus in particular is not a place that we could ever survive what with the corrosive atmosphere).

Mostly enjoyable specialy in the self contained episoded the overarching plot falls into itself

Down on their luck found family of space criminals deal with life and dark pasts

Warnings: suicidal intentions, clichee native characters, unadressed homophobic and transphobic character design dialoge and script, as well as less then stellar handling of sex work

I like the episodic episodes, I like to see them try (and mostly fail) to get by, I like most of the genre parodies/homages. I do not like Spikes plot, its clichee, and underuses the female characters and the conclusion is so 13 year old nihilism that doesn´t give anything to me read more
