the poster and other, better films in the studio ghibli collection led me to believe that it was going to be a lot more whimsical than it ultimately was. the story was fairly uninspired and a little lacklustre but the animation is so lushly detailed you hardly care. a nice way to pass an evening but i probably won't be revisiting this title. read more
