Not as bad as people say, but needs more story.

Not nearly as bad as you may have probably heard. Long story short, it's some sort of Wishmaster Lite. It's kinda cute, the suspense is totally fine, etc. In other words, this movie won't make you feel bad about wasting your time on it.

The problem is... the story is really, like, REALLY basic and there's literally no twists. Well, technically, there IS a twist at the end, but you can guess what it'll be long before you'll even start watching the movie.

So, most of the time it'll be just kid being scared. The kid (Ezra Dewey) did great, but, let's just admit it, it's hard not... read more

My quick rating - 4;1/10. This had the premise setup but than really rushed into what should've had a little bit more story to lead into it. You would think maybe explaining how this conjuring of a Djinn is going to work or possibly making it look like just anyone who can read can just whip one up for themselves. But anyway; so this is what happens; and then the rules of the game are told via a narrator throughout the rest of the flick. The Djinn is a horror film directed by David Charbonier and Justin Powell which stars Ezra Dewey as Dylan, a mute young boy, who one night witnesses his mother standing by candlelight at the kitchen sink. As she turns to face him the candle blows out and the film cuts to a year later where Dylan now lives with his father Michael. Michael is anchor on a late night radio show, leaving Dylan alone in his new home. There, Dylan finds a book which he uses to summon a supernatural creature known as a Djinn.
