age of ultron is another marvel film that blows you away in the theatre and then when you watch it again at home you notice it has a lot more flaws than you first realized. it's still one hell of an entertaining movie but it wasn't the almost masterpiece of action and avenger madness i believed the first time out.
i still loved ultron, james spsder was awesome. and some of the dialogue was so funny, with throwaway lines in the background making you laugh out loud. the action was bananas at times and the whole cast does a great job growing in the roles you've come to love them in.
so the problems:
1) it's not as good or as cohesive as the first avengers film
2) it's got a bit to much noticeable cgi which wouldn't be as much as a problem if it weren't for the captain america films that did a much better job of hiding it and making you not see it.
3) the whole ending of this film is typical superhero/avengers genericism that has happened in so many of their movies now. by this i mean the whole army of robot soldiers thing. how many times can these producers have the avengers fight an army of mindless drones. it all blends together and you kind of go (even though it's a blast): again?
but still, even with these problems, this movie is fun. it's like action almost the whole way through and it starts witha bang. there is no better way to start this kind of movie and in essence this is exactly the kind of movie you would hope an avengers sequel would be. not much in character development (but enough) and tons of action (most of it great to fist pumping awesome).
basically marvel has done it again with another solid entry into their mcu. it wasn't the best entry and not my favourite of the series but it's a worthy invest of nearly two and a half hours that will definitely give you that avengers fix you may be craving.
