I ended up really enjoying Ant-Man, because for all the problems it has, it manages to capture what made superhero movies cool in the first place in a way that they've juts stopped trying to do. The Ant-Size sequences are the closest Marvel movies have come to capturing the feeling of Peter Parker learning how to swing in the Raimi Spider-Man movies. read more

to ant-man ήταν από τις λιγότερο αναμενόμενες ταινίες της marvel παρόλλα αυτά κατάφερε να ξεπεράσει τις προσδοκίες και απλά να με κάνει να την λατρέψω. Δεν την είδα σε 3d αλλά είμαι σίγουρος ότι θα αξίζει να "μπείς" στον υπέροχο αυτό κόσμο του ant-man. Για όσους θα πάτε να την δείτε σιγουρευτείτε να κάτσετε στο τέλος καθώς ακολουθούν 2,ναι δύο, σκηνές έκπληξη. the most mediocre mcu entry i've seen so far. like other individual movies in the franchise, it mixes genre (heist movie, here) with superhero material. as this is an origin story, it makes sense that the superhero part takes up a lot of those 2 hours. it's just not very good - the training montage plays it so straight, so familiar, down to the success scenes coming straight after the emotional moment. and, while on that topic, the "heartfelt" bits were awful, all of them, every single one of them. the writing was bad, the timings were cheesy, the flow was shallow and meaningless. but what... read more

most marvel films are awesome the first time in theatres and then loss a little on second viewings at home. not that they are bad films they just aren't as good as the first time seeing them and you can see the flaws that you miss when the spectacle is so large. ant-man is not one of those films. nope. ant-man is even better than when i saw it in theatres. it was just as funny but even more enjoyable and likeable. honestly, this might be the most fun marvel movie out there (okay fine guardians of the galaxy can take that prize and the recently released thor: ragnorok trailer is making that... read more

ive tried ant-man twice now and it still feels the same. just ok. its not a bad film at all. not like thor 2 or iron man 2. it doesnt enrage me its just kinda there. its marvel by the numbers so they can guarantee a minimum return.  i know you shouldnt judge a film by extra contextual knowledge but i couldnt shake the idea of edgar wright possibly being the factor that makes this a good movie instead of just another notch on the mcu belt. read more

"i think our first move should be calling the avengers." i wish they did call the avengers. it would have made this film more interesting than it turned out to be. there isn't much here that separates the film or makes it stand out from the crowded superhero film market. but, i suppose that is what you have to expect from marvel studios. they found a formula that makes money and they won't deviate from it far at all, even if the story itself is begging for something a little more creative and the formula doesn't serve it. for ant-man, i don't think the formula hurt it too much from a read more

Finally got around to seeing this today and I think my poster quote for Ant Man would be: “It's just like drinking a glass of room temperature water!” It's probably the biggest nothing of a movie that I've seen in quite some time, with huge sections that simply just hang there. Ant-Man is directed by Peyton Reed and the movie isnt exactly top tier MCU but its enjoyable for what it is. Scott Lang and his character is played so nicely by Paul Rudd, easily the best part of the film. Im sure Baskin Robbins found that out already. Hope Van Dyne isnt a great character here, I wish there was more of a relationship between her and her father. That said, I dont think Evangeline Lilly did anything wrong in terms of the performance, it was mainly due to the writing. I wish more MCU movies today would just go back and be more simple, small-scale & fun like this is, it read more

Whoever cast Paul Rudd as Scott Lang deserves a medal. He plays such a loveable, funny part in this movie. He's funny yet when he needs to be serious, he sells it. I legitimately feel for him. For a character I had no interest, this movie made Scott Lang one of my favourite characters. I love how creative they got with the fight scenes and environments. A super-suit allows a likable underachieving single dad to shrink his size at will (and concentrate his strength in the process) making him a diminutive but still precious addition to the Marvel superhero pantheon. terrible yakult product placement when the guard drinks the yakult there is still some left, yet in the close up of it there is no fluid left. additionally to this the guard is drinking the yakult with his right hand, but when we see it in closeup it is rolling towards frame from his left. completely shattered my immersion and any sense of stake in this movie. would give a 0/10 if i could. read more
