I could write a long, thoughtful review in which I detail all the ways in which this movie is a giant mess, with incoherent character motivations, the worlds slowest pacing, no stakes or urgency or reason to care, but it was 2 hours and 20 minutes long and I have better things to do. Like never think about this movie again. Seriously, it didn't even have the courtesy to be the interesting kind of bad. It was just boring. read more

when i saw this in theatres it was one of my favourite movies of the year even though it was a little slow and even though i expected more from it and even though i didn't enjoy it as much as i thought i would. watching it again on dvd i actually liked it a lot more and i can see why it was one of my favourites. i also didn't think it that slow this time around. n fact, the almost two and ahlaf hour runtime breezed by. what makes american hustle so good? how about everything. what do i mean by everything? i mean everything. the music and use of songs from the era the film takes place is spot... read more

this film was exhausting. the performances and soundtrack were great, but after about 20 minutes, the story completely lost me. there were a lot of characters and details that were presented very quickly and once the story loses you, there's nothing to bring you back in. there were glimpses of the film's "message" throughout, which i think worked well, but i don't think this was the right story to present it. read more

david o. russell has come a long way since the period of his career where he was shouting obscenities at lily tomlin and george clooney was threatening to beat him down. with films like the fighter and silver linings playbook, russell has established himself within the upper echelon of hollywood and american hustle is right in line with those films. this fictionalized adaptation of the abscam fbi operation which used questionable tactics to uncover corrupt government officials stands with the best of russell's work and indeed, the best films of 2013. hustle is, first and foremost, an actor's... read more

Я понимаю что у вас тут типа дофига крутой каст и всё такое, но нахрена строить практически целый фильм на крупных планах ? У меня нету клаустрофобии, но даже я начал чувствовать себя некомфортно из-за этого. К тому же, это обесценивает работу костюмеров и дизайнеров, так как кроме лиц актеров тупо ничего не видно.
