finally a bond movie that effectively captures the spirit of the 60s & 70s from silkscreen silhouettes to cheesy woodpanel-breaking locomotive fistfights and beautiful supercars. romancer of widows in black to shrinks in silver, craig attempts to be more moore than brosnan, which, though almost stiffly-comedic at times, proves that mendes' course-correction of the bond franchise brings it closer to the spirit of broccoli's films, if not fleming's novels. read more

okay... so this wasn't as good as i thought the first two times around. i am not saying it is a bad movie because it is far from it it just wasn't blow me away amazing. it was more a good bond film that is highly entertaining but not of the best. this change of heart most probably stems from the fact that i just watched skyfall which was amazing and blew me away and showed me how good and original a bond film could look and feel while spectre was more traditional and just not anywhere near as strong. it's slower, it's more campy, the effects/stunts/camerawork are not as good (by a hair's read more

well, at least this film has james bond in it. this film also has some decent actions sequences, i guess. honestly, the reason spectre falls flat while recent efforts, including skyfall, succeed is because of character development. the worst james bond films focus so heavily on either developing the character of bond, or none of the characters, that they neglect to give the requisite attention to populating the rest of the film with characters that the audience can find engaging and interesting, even though you know the general formula that the film is going to take. spectre does some read more

this is stupid. i don't know why every action movie did this troop. where the villain captures the hero and then torture him for pleasure, and while that he tells him how much he wanted to kill him. this is ridiculous. again later in the movie, the villain capture the girl and instead of killing her. he made a challenge where the hero can save her. why?!! if you want to kill her. why don't you kill her already? i'm happy that i'm done with this series seriously. read more

they really dropped the ball in the "i am the architect of all your pain" montage by only showing three previous Bond villains. Could've easily thrown Hugo Drax, Elektra King and the Telly Savalas Blofeld in there too, to really change the game. read more

Suspended from MI6 for reckless conduct, James Bond investigates a powerful criminal organization. With Mendes back to the helm after "Skyfall", the 007 series insists on prequelizing the Fleming canon and keeps trying too hard to confer some depth to a structurally one-dimensional hero. While Seydoux is a suitably charming female co-protagonist, Christoph Waltz's Blofeld is only allowed hinting at the potentially unforgettable villain he will hopefully play in the franchise's next installment. read more

My quick rating - 6;5/10. Another big budget Bond flick that actually is pretty well done. I do like the fact that it was plot heavy for a change but still didn't shy away from car chases and explosions. Alsogood to see Batista in a prefect role made just for hi : One that doesn't require him speaking a word LOL. read more

This is arguably the weakest of Daniel Craig's outings as James Bond. I found it a bit boring which I never thought I would say when taking about 007.There was just something missing here, the action sequences have looked better at past and I definitely got that studio/green screen feel with this. Even Daniel Craig looked like he couldn't be bothered and is perhaps tiring of the role. The lead bond girl looked about half his age and I thought Monica Belucci who is still hot for her age should of had a bigger role. A bit of a plodding mess, Christoph Waltz feels too sidelined and Andrew Scott feels a little miscast, but still enough intrigue from a character perspective (hey look! Pictures of Javier Bardem and Mads Mikkelsen! Confront your past Bond!) and some decent action (hey look! Batista! He's fucking people up!) that I yet again shelve this as a 'passable Bond adventure' as I have with like a solid half of these at this point.
