52 years in 52 weeks 2015 horror x52 (2018) week 16 - 2010s watched this via itunes (mistake by the way). i watched the babadook yesterday, and i said that film was the best horror film of 2010s (small sample size of films ive seen), but the witch took that over. i wish i was following release schedule of films back in 2016, so i couldve watched this on the big screen. and i wish i bought this on blu-ray before watching. this is a fantastic visual film. really, just about everything about this film is fantastic. read more

film 49 of obligatory october of horror ii jumpscare counter: 3 relatively minor ones all in a 5 minute span near the end of the film for the third time now, i've sat here entirely transfixed by this film. its entire runtime gone in what felt like 20 minutes. i still can't put my finger on what it is that makes the vvitch work so well for me but it just has that ethereal enchanting aura to it that draws me in perfectly. with an average rating of 3.8 it's still underrated as fuck and i will keep recommending it to people. it's an amazing folk fantasy horror drama hybrid that's just unlike read more

31 Days of Halloween 2023 Movie 42I got way more into this than I thought I would. It's definitely not a time period I like seeing in a movie but it's dark as hell and pretty compelling. I was kind of let down by the ending but after sitting with it awhile I'm ok with it. It's a slow burn but definitely elevates witches in the horror monster rankings. read more
