11/10 movie in most respects. every scene is an absolute classic. not a single flaw to be found in them. all this makes the "vincent vega & marsellus wallace's wife" segment of the movie stand out all the more. i don't know what it is about it, but i just don't like it. something about the writing and acting just doesn't stack up to the rest of the film. it's especially weird since it's probably one of the more iconic parts of pulp fiction. the dancing scene, the overdose, hell, mia wallace herself. i don't know, i just don't care for it. every time i rewatch this movie and go from the read

this was the first tarantino film i saw. i can't tell you what year that was. i remember my mum rented it. what i can't remember is whether we were still in the time where it took a couple of years for a film to come out on video following it's cinematic release. the reason i mention this is because this film had a big effect on me. i credit it with opening my eyes to the world of cinema on the whole. i'd never seen a film that eschewed a chronological structure. where people spoke like they knew each other as opposed to pushing plot along. i'd never seen a man fucked in the arse before read

at first, we see some totally unrelated actions of marselus wallace's hit men jules and vincent vega, wallace's wife and vincent who is under command of wallace to entertain his wife while he is out of town, and butch who is a fighter taken money from wallace to lose his next fight intentionally. as i said, these 3 storylines are not related to each other as they occur seperately. first, jules and vincent are on a mission to retrieve a valuable case which is taken from wallace. they kill 3 boys who are in the apartment and spare life of the innocent(!) black guy. first storyline ends here.... read

This was fascinating. So complex and strange and I loved how all the stories intertwined and interacted with each other.
Samuel Jackson ATE THIS UP. He owned this movie and you can't tell me otherwise. He makes this movie memorable and epic. Every line he says is iconic. And Young Samuel Jackson can get it, honestly.
Speaking of guys who can bang me, add Tim Roth. What a sexy robber, honestly. I loved Sam and Tim's scene together at the end, it was hard to breathe I was so engrossed with every word being spoken.
Bruce Willis' story might be my least favourite. The gimp and the rape scene... read

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides
By the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men
Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will
Shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness
For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children
And I will strike down upon thee
With great vengeance and furious anger
Those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers
And you will know my name is the Lord
When I lay my vengeance upon thee read

Got the sudden urge to rewatch this, my first time seeing it all the way through in well over a decade, although it doesn't feel like it considering how much of this has seeped into pop culture through osmosis. Tarantino flexes the world building muscles here that would eventually become so strong that he, for better or worse, built an entire alternate version of New Hollywood and had to write a book to cover all the overspilling details. Pulp Fiction is arguably just as immersive a world despite showing you a much more fragmented look into it in 3 semi-isolated stories. I won't bore you or... read

85 / 100 read

mustamies ja pitkätukka puvuissaan laittaa kylmäksi muutamia tyyppejä, välillä vahingossakin. pitkätukka tanssittaa pomon mimmiä, joka on delata yliannostukseen. toisaalla nyrkkeilijällä on tuli perseen alla. timanttinen gangsteri-pätkä. pitkiä dialogeja, non-lineaarista kerrontaa. useampi tarina, joista osa fuusioituu. read
