what a glorious feeling! i love how tippy-tappy all the scores and dances can get! the humor in singin' in the rain is so well done, especially how they deal with the transition from silent films to talkies. the way they start challenges their acting, speech lesson(leads to a delightful dancing scene, tippy tappy and stompy!), and that microphone placement! this may be the most energetic musical i've seen from hollywood. lauded and heralded as one of the greatest if not the best musical movie, from gene kelly stomping in rain to them greeting their audience 'good morning', it was so much read more

i was pleasantly surprised by this mish-mash of a movie although i'm not usually tickled by vaudeville and tapdance. some of o'connor's moves are amazingly fluid, and kelly carries his trademark flair. but it's the ousted diva hagen who plays her evil role most convincingly next to neophyte reynolds. a pity there weren't more people at the screening... read more
