hoop-tober 2.0: film 19 *********************************************************************** thanks to the criterion collection for getting me to watch films that i have never heard of or seen before. the most dangerous game is one of those films. in high school (or university) i read the short story it was based on but i didn't know there was a movie based on it. actually i did know there was a the steve austin movie called the condemned but a film from the 30's, nu-uh, didn't know about that. so i watched it and once again i am surprised by another film from that decade. violence, gore... read more

And the DVD itself is quite an exercise in simplicity compared to (for example) the elaborate two-disc-and-a-214-page book crown jewel that Criterion put together for Vampyr. The only thing we get here besides the film is an audio commentary. No short subjects, no behind the scenes... read more
