i looooove me some nasty practical effects! and they aged so perfectly! there is one scene though where the monster thing is coming down a halfway and you can see the film crew in the background. their heads are bopping in and out of the shot as they're pushing the trolley. it's kinda charming though and you can't really talk shit about an old movie. that would be disrespectful. read more

i started watching this the other night but didn't get time to finish it. i'm now in my wife's bad books because i insisted on finishing it tonight. i'd just got to the point where julia brings men back for frank to feed off. i put feed off as i have no fucking idea what to call what he does. anyway, my wife really doesn't like violence in films and i forgot to warn her that someone took a hammer to the face. still, it was worth getting in trouble because this is a fun film for me :) read more

we've had the boxset for hellraiser for years and years, yet i never had the time to watch them. i finally started today and i'm smacking myself in the head for not doing so earlier. pinhead is a complete bad-ass and honestly, there was a lot more story in this movie than i expected there to be. i was expecting a bunch of gore with no real story to it but i got so much more than that. yet, still with gore! jesus might have wept but not because this movie was bad, that's for sure. read more
