it's so cool when you don't read anything about a movie and you go in the theater and in the end it's so damn good. eastwood is an auteur on his own. this film is so meaningful and powerful. this guy is 88 years old, directs and acts fantastically. respect. read more

the saddest thing about watching this film is a) we might never see clint again on the silver screen and b) there are so fe movies left to be directed by clint that we won't be getting (when they are good) much more of these quintessential eastwood flicks. in other words: watching this feels like the end of specific and defined era in hollywood's history. also, it's pretty damn good too... read more

the story is generally well executed, but there is no depth. there is no real development of any character besides earl, and he doesnt develop all that much, he just progresses and acknowledges what he already knew. there is a fantastic cast that is given absolutely nothing to do, bradley cooper was given a tiny bit of character, but not enough to really bring any depth. essentially the entire film is a character study of clint eastwoods earl stone, but there isnt quite enough there to support the film without either another plot line or more depth. i want to give dianne wiest the benefit of... read more

Clint Eastwood has been around for a long time now and mostly these days he is behind the camera as director which is no different here but he is also the main actor. The story about an elderly man who turns drug mule for the cartel almost seems like Eastwood's swan song. He is terrific in this and its at least an original idea. Highly recommended read more

Clint Eastwood produces and stars in this crime drama about Earl Stone, a man who in his 80s becomes bankrupt and after a chance encounter becomes a drug mule for a notorious drug cartel. Seemingly adapting to his new job with ease, the charming unassuming nature of Earl propels his cargo value and in doing so makes him a suitably rich man. Of course, involvement in any drug cartel is likely to end up one way only.
