quick hit: like a boss is going to largely depend on whether you find tiffany haddish's brand of humor funny. it works for a lot of people, so i'm not going to knock it outright; however, it's not for me. the problem is that there isn't much beyond that to sustain this movie. salma hayek delivers a few chuckles as the villainous corporate boss who comes in and drives a wedge between haddish and rose byrne's best friends as they try to run their business, and jennifer coolidge and billy porter are a blast. but these elements are not in the film nearly long enough to make it very worthwhile. the jokes fail to land or go on too long, the story is half-baked at best and generally everything seems to be thrown together with the least amount of effort possible. it would be going to far to say this is a horrible comedy, but it is entirely forgettable and that's a crime in and of itself.
