i wasn't familiar with the work of r. crumb and i kind of wish that was still the case. he is a creepy and perverse little man who made me uncomfortable, yet somehow he was the most normal member of his family that was interviewed. i can't say that i have any appreciation for his work or him as a person, in fact i have an intense disdain for him and his work. the glee that they took in talking about molesting women was disgusting. the documentary itself was very well made, shedding light on who crumb is and his impact on society and culture. they present both appreciation and criticism for... read more

The most basic appeal of art is that it lets you see out of different eyes, radically different eyes. Robert Crumb is a weird little freak, and this movie lets you know that even the candidness he's known for is the tip of a terrifying iceberg of pain and feeling. Ended the movie feeling gutted.
