Played Halo with my offspring some years ago and they ran rings around me! Enjoyed it, though for me it was more about the children than the game itself; I have some background but am reviewing this in isolation as it stands. On that basis it is a well-rounded start - the scene is set in the bar/camp, the motivations delineated through Quan's loss, Master Chief's emergent empathy and the rules and regulations of UNSC. This together with the apparent rampant evil of the aliens quickly gives decent structure to the place, plot and pace. The acting is OK if a little wooden and read more 1 of
