Season one builds magnificently on an original core concept, it is witty, charming and well acted. A good cast supporting a strong performance from Bill Hader as the eponymous, wannabe-actor hitman. The situations created are simultaneously hilarious and sinister making this must-watch TV. By comparison, season two is a chaotic mess, losing both its intelligence and direction becoming neither funny nor dark. It is as if a second outing came as an unwelcome surprise to the writers for which they were unprepared.
